Gandhiji while taking the example of Hazrat Umar ibn al-Khattab and Hazrat Abu Bakr r.a. said:
I can not give you the example of Ram Chandra or Krishna, because they were not recognized figures in history. I can not help it but to present to you the names of Abu Bakar (RA) and Umar Farooq (RA). They were leaders of a vast Empire, yet they lived a life of austerity.

  1. Umar and other companions of Mohammed were brutal sex predators and barbaric oppressors. There is no proof Gandhi ever said that, even otherwise Gandhi is a very small man to pass comments about Great Avtars like Lord Rama.
